September 18, 2017

Students are studying the history of numbers. They used their counting skills to tabulate the number of pull tabs that have been collected for the Ronald McDonald House. The total was 10,841 or about 8 pounds and 5 ounces of aluminum. Student are learning about philanthropy and recycling to raise funds to help children and their families at the same time. We will continue to collect pull tabs off soda cans, pet food, and canned vegetables.

Activities for this week include memorization of basic math facts, identifying shapes in the geometry cabinet, rules for capitalization of proper nouns, and identifying the names of countries and capitals on the continent of North America.

Students are excited about playing with friends at the Potluck and picking out a new book at the Book Fair on Friday, September 22, 2017 from 6:30-8:00 p.m.

See you at PotLuck Friday night, September 22!
