Upper Elementary

Mrs. Haynes and Ms. Walker

November 20, 2017

This past week, the Upper Elementary welcomed new fourth grader, Owen, to our class family. We are excited for him to join our learning community.

We also welcomed the third graders to be a part of our classroom for our annual Student Visit Up Day! On Wednesday, November 15th third graders joined us at our Circle meeting in the morning. They participated in our Upper Elementary STEM program and used Upper Elementary materials with peer lessons during our work block. They read and answered questions to a fourth grade Basal story. They also joined us for lunch and recess.

Our 6th graders are up to their eyeballs in articles for their U.N. studies. They are working hard on composing their U.N. papers. It is wonderful to watch our friends rise to the challenge of this advanced work. This paper will be completed before the students leave for Winter Break.

Be sure to join us for The Grandparents’ Day  & International Tea Celebration this Tuesday, November 21st from 9-10 a.m. We will also be hosting the Upper Elementary Science Fair on Thursday, December 14th at 9:15 a.m. Please be our guests before you depart for the Winter Holidays.

Have a wonderful Thanksgiving Break!
